New Feature: Facebook page admin permission levels

in FEATURED POSTS

This is really important new feature by facebook and I’ll give you an example and tell you why it is important. For example, if I have a page that I act as an administrator, I only care about looking at analytics but since I’m an admin, I get bombarded with every single activity that happens in the front-end, with this new change, the page owner can only give me an access to the facebook Insights.

Or it can be the other way around, you might have a member of your team that moderates activity but you don’t want him to have access to manage Admin Roles. Or you can happily now give a social media agency a limited access without being afraid to be removed from the page as it happened to many page owners before.

To change the permission. Go to your page >> “edit page” >> “Admin Role” >> Then below the admin name you will find an option that you can change it.

Facebook has launched 5 different levels for administrators. Here is the official breakdown and rights each one of these roles includes:

I love this new feature, until now, clients I’ve had are always weary of giving me full access if I’m only consulting, and understandably so.

Now, I can just be set up to see and modify insights, so that I can do my job without making my clients worry. Great Infographic at the start of this article!

Smart move by Facebook. Making it easier for companies to engage with visitors will benefit everyone. Gaining customers through social media is probably the best, and cheapest, way to market a product or service. No advertising fees to pay and customers will always know where to find you. This will make the process more efficient.

Well that’s cool Faissal, it’s about time.

I’ve had a few people make me administrator of their fan pages because Facebook told them someone else should be an administrator just in case something happened to them. The only problem I had with that is I didn’t really know those people all that well and didn’t want that responsibility.

I’m glad though that now they can limit the admins to what they can do. I’ve been removed from those other pages thank goodness and I don’t have anyone else as an admin on my page either. But I’m not some big company that needs that kind of help either.

Thanks for sharing this new feature Faissal.

Enjoy your week.

I love that Facebook is putting a lot of work into their groups. My Blog Engage group s is just so awesome but one thing I would like to to stop all the link posting, I constantly have to warn people two or three times daily. If I can make a permissions that only allows read write without links that would be amazing.

Wow! This is great. I am looking forward to being able to use all those different options. Facebook has certainly improved over the past few years. With Facebook Insights we are able to track the fan interaction and response to posts on our pages. This is quite important to look at for getting to know your audience.

hello faissal,
first of all i’d like to say that its a really nice feature that you can have many admins for one page.and then a new feature where all these admins have different privileges. it adds a beauty and flexibility to facebook.
and i must say the image you attached here, i think is enough alone to make us understand this feature.
nice post with nice information
