These are some great ideas. My questions is how do you post answers with links to your site, without coming across as a spammer? LinkedIn is a little different than Yahoo Answers, and I would worry about annoying people – especially since I use LinkedIn everyday in my normal job.

I totally agree with your tip about becoming an expert. It isn’t going to right away that your answers are always valued but with continuing to provide quality answers and resources you will grow your credibility and then be looked as an expert in that field. After growing that credibility you can then leverage some relationships that you have built and continue to grow.

Just like you said, I’ve been ignoring the Answers feature’s potential. I already get most of my social traffic from LinkedIn Groups. There’s no reason to keep avoiding it. With LinkedIn, I have to spend more time there anyway. Because LinkedIn is a community of professionals, it’s kind of hard to find really young adults – who just happen to be my website’s audience.

I think by asking the right questions, I can get some of them to come out of hiding. Then I can connect with them, then lead them (and hopefully some friends/family) to the blog. All’s well.

Thanks for sharing!
